The date for the Ship of Heroes character creator beta has been announced by Heroic Games, Inc. This beta will be open exclusively to those who have donated at least $50 to Heroic Games. Those who wish to take part in the beta who haven’t donated $50 yet can still do so up until October 15th, which is Tuesday next week. Donations are cumulative, so if you’ve donated to them before for less than $50 you can donate the difference and get in.
Casey McGeever, CEO of Heroic Games had this to say about the upcoming test. “We are fulfilling our 2017 promise to open the CCT (Character Creator Tool) to everyone who has donated at least $50 over the last couple of years, and let them create original characters using our character models and costumes.” He also went on to say that they have received a “large volume” of suggestions and requests over the last couple of years and that most of them have been added to the character creator.
Also, as promised during this beta participants will be able to create characters and save their character names for later use.
“We think we’ve made the best character creation tool of any modern MMORPG in terms of scope and depth of customization. With three distinct character models, over 100 faces, more than 80 specific morphs, more than 50 kinds of eyes, dozens of costumes and hair models, and more, this is a new level of excellence in customization. What’s more, our CCT is only going to get better over time as we add new costumes, more skin, hair, fur, and other options for players with which to make their own unique avatars. Our players can make more unique characters in Ship of Heroes than there are unique adults on the earth,” McGeever added.
Currently, Heroic Games believes they’ll have Ship of Heroes ready for a soft launch in December 2020. For now, though, be sure to mark November 1st on your calendar for the Ship of Heroes character creator beta. If you’d like to read more about Ship of Heroes check out this article on Superspeed.
Below is a video from Heroic Games showing off the randomizer buttons in the Ship of Heroes character creator. They allow for customization of look, costume, and color. On top of that, each part of the body can be randomized separately. So if you find something you like in one spot you can leave it and continue on to other parts of your hero’s body.
